It’s our golden anniversary here at the Uncommonwealth Studios!!! And to commemorate our incredible accomplishment of tolerating one another, for an hour a week, every week, for an ENTIRE year, we are talking anniversaries, of all shapes and sizes!
Jimmy goes interstellar right out of the gate, hitting us with some celestial math problems, that not even Matthew McConaughey could alright alright alright his way out of. Did you know that on Neptune, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip have been married for 629,000 earth years!? That’s too many episodes of The Crown for even Katherine to watch!
Adam takes the reins wowing the Uncommonwealth faithful with some truly fascinating podcast stats, that we eventually realize was just an elaborate plan to pat ourselves on the back for keeping this going for an entire year. Did you know that we’re more successful than the song Despacito, or better at podcasting than Lindsay Lohan is at staying out of rehab (cheap shot!)? Remember the Mooch?! We do!
Katherine opens up her segment with a classic Rawlinson razzle dazzle, proceeding to poo poo the entire idea of anniversaries and years, and calendars, and clocks, the very topic we’d all previously agreed to focus on today, but artfully pivots to bring us a passionately, if poorly pronounced, Sub Prime Ministers about a rocking Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand.
After loudly interrupting and rushing through his confusing thoughts on the existence of a higher power, Piers drops some muy piquantè anniversary facts about Steve Irwin the sting ray, curiously named after Steve Irwin the global legend, and admits to spending all his rent money on Crocodile Hunter trading cards. With seconds left to finish his segment, he races through a fascinating tale of Anglo American anniverserial relations, to bring our 52nd episode to a longwinded and thrilling conclusion.
