Jimmy opens with a pod favorite: “What’s The Difference?” In this segment, Jimmy always seems informed, but he’s Australian, so how informed can he really be? The first question throws the group for a loop: What is the difference between a pickle and a gherkin (or did he say jerkin’)?
Pickle or Gherkin?
You may think you know but be sure to listen so you can feel superior. Then we talk rainforests and, eventually, we end up in the land of penne, which turns into the world’s first Pity Pasta Party. This experience is then renamed a Pity Pizza Party because it makes a better title, and we like to confuse our listeners.
Katherine attempts to turn the tables by talking about the saga of former Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, during which Jimmy apparently lived under a rock:
Rob Ford may look a little like Chris Farley (our hero) but he probably shouldn’t be uttered in the same breath. The story of Toronto’s former crack-smoking, racist, populist mayor really never gets old, even if you already lived it once, unlike Jimmy.
Adam jumps in with his new-ish segment “Who Came Second?” teasing the group with several fascinating examples we all want to know more about, and then abruptly pivoting to a Two Truths and a Lie segment with the sole goal of showing how little we know about the movie The Gladiator.
Piers closes the episode with a random fact about a recent incident at the United Nations where North Korea outs Australia for human rights abuses. What human rights abuses? Piers does not know. Why did North Korea do this? Piers does not know. But at least we can now include a picture of the most adorable Supreme Leader ever, Kim Jong-Un:
