June is National Cancer Survivor Month. There are nearly 17 million cancer survivors in the U.S. and with continued advancements through cancer research that number is expected to grow to 26 million by 2040. Today, we speak to 3 of those survivors - each with a story of how they made it through their own cancer journey and how they continue to advocate for research and those around them.

First, we speak with Prem Aithal. Prem took on testicular cancer at the age of 28 before facing several serious secondary conditions from his treatment. Next, Dwan Thomas tells the story of battling an aggressive form of breast cancer while facing aftermath of a devastating hurricane. Finally, Marla Malone explains how a diagnosis of Hodgkin's Lymphoma became her motivation to help others facing cancer.
