Description

Students from Senior Grade 1 all the way through to Grade 10 recently completed the first of two Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessments for the 2022-2023 school year at Western Academy of Beijing (WAB). MAP Growth, administered by the North West Evaluation Association (NWEA) is one of the most trusted and reliable computer-adaptive tests to measure a student's academic progress, used by international schools in 140 countries worldwide. MAP Growth provides WAB with useful information to support the learning of each child, and is also a valid point of comparison to evaluate the foundations of our curriculum.

In order to shed more light on how the MAP testing results are used at WAB, we invited Vice Principals from Elementary, Middle and High School to the WAB Podcast this week.

Our Vice Principals explain why WAB uses MAP Testing, how it is used by teachers and different departments across the school, and how parents should be reading and interpreting these results. You'll hear about some of the other ways that WAB assesses the progress of the students and why you shouldn't be concerned with spikes in the results.
