The Civil War started April 15, 1861 ending April 9, 1865 and in economic terms the two sides used far different strategies.  Governments have 3 ways to raise money, tax, borrow or print money.  During the Civil War both governments used a combination of all three however, the mix of these three were used by both the North & South.  Finances turned out to be key to winning the war.  Questions or comments email David@GDTB.
