Description

The historic McCormick building on Ontario Street, with sections dating back to the 1890s and 1940s, originally served as a mansion before becoming a casino, then a smorgasbord and puppet theater and later the restaurant Lawry’s The Prime Rib. Lawry’s served its last meal on New Year’s Eve 2020. Today, the building is a venue where guests come each night to wander among the rooms, find different magicians performing, and have dinner and drinks. In the Loop's architecture expert Dennis Rodkin takes us inside The Hand & The Eye, a new upscale magic theater, and explores the structure's history.
