Description

Ricardo Lara is an active member of the Southeast Los Angeles (SELA) community. Ricardo along with his wife Cindy and his 2 children Sebastian & Samantha are a proud family of civic service for the community, they have put in hours in volunteering work by being part of different organizations and committees.

As a family and as an individual Ricardo has been part of the following organizations, Maywood Lions Club, Annual Maywood Education Fair, Communities for a Better Environment (CBE), American Red Cross and the East Los Angeles Sheriffs Volunteer on Patrol (VOP), just to name a few.

Ricardo has been a community activist for over 5 years, standing strong for Maywood, the city that watched his wife grow-up, the city where they have decided to make a home for their children. The more he’s become active, the more he’s realized that Maywood residents have a voice that is not being heard. Ricardo, a long with Cindy’s support, decided to help on a greater scale by Ricardo running for the Maywood City Council.

He believes in transparency between the city and the residents. His goal is to improve public safety, hiring qualified people to help manage our city and providing high quality resources for residents with a focus on youth and seniors. Ricardo is coming in with a mind set to take proper action to reduce the city’s deficit and stop the wasteful spending.
