Welcome back to the kitchen table. When you’re constantly separating your kids as they bicker and fight, it can feel like you’re stuck in the role of referee, always stepping in to calm the chaos. It’s exhausting, and in those moments, it’s easy to lose sight of the bigger picture.
Jesus dealt with squabbles too. He didn’t ignore them or lose his cool. Instead, he redirected people with patience and encouragement. In Luke 9, he shows us how to respond with grace, while Ephesians 4:1-3 reminds us to walk in humility, gentleness, and love, even when tensions rise.
When your home feels like a battlefield, take a breath. Sit with Jesus and ask, "How do I lead my kids through this in a way that reflects You?" You don’t have to have all the answers, and you’re not called to be perfect. You're simply called to surrender the situation to him.
But before stepping into the chaos, take a moment to find your grounding in Christ. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how to lead with love, and allow time in his presence to fill you up.
It’s in that quiet, soaking time that he equips us to handle the hard moments with grace.
