Description

In this episode of the Women in Health Tech Show, I speak to Dr Chantal Cox, Investment Manager at Octopus Ventures. Chantal shares insights from her career at the intersection of clinical care, commercial strategy, and venture capital. The discussion covers her transition from NHS doctor to venture capitalist, the challenges and opportunities in integrating technology into healthcare, and the importance of supporting female entrepreneurs. Chantal also offers her perspective on the complexities of scaling healthcare innovations within the NHS and the vital role of mentorship and networking in professional growth.

Dr Chantal Cox has spent her career working at the intersection of clinical care, commercial strategy, and venture capital. Her insights have been published in Business Insider, the Washington Post, Forbes, the Times, and the BMJ. She trained and worked as a doctor in the NHS before moving into strategy consulting and later venture capital. That journey has given her a front row seat to the reality of how healthcare systems work and where they fall short.

She supports founders building the future of healthcare from diagnostics and digital infrastructure to patient led platforms and workforce solutions. She cares deeply about businesses that are clinically relevant, commercially viable, and inclusively designed, especially in spaces where innovation has historically lagged. She's particularly interested in how we reimagine care for underserved groups, whether that's women, ethnic minorities or frontline professionals themselves.
