Peters says he's thinking about something different. This more whimsical psychological comedy set in Los Angeles demonstrates that its creator has seen and truly assimilated some of the greatest films ever made. Set against the backdrop of La La Land, the city plays itself, from "Sunset Boulevard" to "Mulholland Drive." To be clear, "Skincare's" modern joys don't promise to be comparable to these classics. Nevertheless, Peters is here to demonstrate how everyone can have a good time at the movies, regardless of whether you're a fellow enthusiast of the huge, glitzy movie town that he knows like the back of his hand or you simply enjoy crime stories that follow naive criminals who have no viable escape routes and always end in something exciting and captivating. How Peters has done this is just amazing.
