Multidisciplinary artist Michaela Pilar Brown discusses her in-process work, "The Mother Wound", ahead of her Black Box presentation at the Spelman College Museum of Fine Art, how her parents' health challenges have influenced her, and how she has evolved to use her body in her artistic practice. Brown also gives some insight into how her art relates to the trauma suffered by Black female bodies and the notion of bodies as vessels for cultural memory.
