Owen Franks is the Tightend Prop for the New Zealand All Blacks, and has been since 2009. For that same period The All Blacks have dominated Internationally Rugby, earning them the description ‘the greatest international sporting team of all time’ and Owen has been right in the thick of it.
Owen describes himself as an average talent, but as you’ll see from this conversation... where he excels, is in hunger, determination and pure hard-work.
Owen is the type of person that motivational coaches talk about, except where they talk – he acts.
I asked him the specific essay question:
“For almost a decade you have been a member of, what has been described as, the greatest international team in the history of sport – The All Blacks. Tell me, what does is truly take to be a part of such a high performing team?”
His answer bares down to the basics and he provides imperative advice for anyone with a current dream or goal. Whether it is a youngster looking to play for their country or perhaps this is your second or third shot a your dream… with hard work, the will to do what others won’t and the right environment – here is the real life definition of ‘impossible is nothing’
