In this episode, I seat down with Diane Kalendra. Diane is the mother of 2 kids and has 4 grand-children now (3 girls and 1 boy between 2 and 13). Diane has been in the corporate environment but has also owned and managed businesses. She is now an academic with the goal to help mature students get ready for a management position with the help of an MBA. That's in that position that I met Diane. Diane is also a business coach. 

One of the reasons for bringing Diane to the podcast was to discuss Human development psychology, one of the key topics from her PhD. This lead to the following points in our discussion:

• To achieve your own balance between work and fatherhood, you need to travel from your head to your heart through experience
• Solutions to your balance is different for one person to another
• You need to be fully present in the moment to hear/know at a deep level what you need to do
• To be present you need to remove yourself from distraction and engage in meditation
• Meditation or a sense of flow can take on different formats: running, surfing, swimming, walking in the bush,  
• Meditation leads to clarity and creativity
• Being fully present is a muscle that requires daily practice
