Starbucks cafes across the country will be closed this afternoon for racial bias training … in the wake of an incident in a Philadelphia Starbucks last month. Two black men were arrested, seemingly for the crime of not buying anything. Millions have watched a video of the event. Our guests--Professor Ray Winbush of Morgan State and Adar Ayira of Associated Black Charities--say what happened demonstrates a much larger problem. Can a corporation have an impact on the racial dynamic in this country? What should Starbucks do to effect change?
