b"CommonWord is shocked and saddened by Mark MacDonald's acknowledged ministerial sexual misconduct, which came to our attention on June 24, 2022. We unreservedly condemn his actions, and stand in solidarity with all victims of sexual violence. \r\n\r\nWe have determined to remove Mark's materials from our collection. We do so to signal our condemnation of his actions; to acknowledge the raw wounds that his choices open in the lives of victims of sexual violence; and our need for patient, ongoing reflection in life situations imbued with dissonant complexity. We view this choice as a necessary, provisional time of lament as we acknowledge this brokenness.\n\r\n\r\nThe Christian season of Lent demands we pay attention to repentance. With this episode, we focus on how Christians can make repentance meaningful in the context of the church's relationship with Indigenous peoples. Right Reverend Bishop Mark MacDonald reveals some common misunderstandings of repentance, explores some traditional rituals among Indigenous spiritual traditions that parallel Christian Lenten practice, and shares a story of what repentance meant to Indigenous peoples prior to contact with white settlers.\r\n\r\n Available in two formats:\r\n\r\nPodcast version (26:21 min)\r\nRadio version (15:00 min)"
