SESSION 2

Everybody knows that if you are going to be walking, or running, or riding a long distance … LIGHTER is better.  Think about it. Can you imagine a marathon runner at the starting line holding 50lb. dumbbells in his hands?  You would say “That guy is a dumbbell!”  because you know he will not get very far before he has to stop to rest or give up all together. Here is the thing though…as unimaginable as that seems …so many of us are doing the exact same thing in our journey with God…spiritually, we are carrying around sin while we try run the race of faith.  And just like that marathoner trying to run with dumbbells…we can allow sin to remain a part of our lives while trying to live Christ.  How’s that going? The good news is that every man can get “lighter” right now, go farther than you ever imagined right now, and feel as strong as you ever felt in your faith right now as God’s man … BUT we are going to have to shed the sin that is holding us back and drop the disobedience dragging us down.  Will it be a battle? Of course. Will it be a process? Probably. But as we will learn today in Part Two of The Endurance Series – less sin means more energy for relationship with God, more endurance for God, and more impact for God on earth.
