Feelings of Isolated Attributed to Soaring Numbers of Depression and Anxiety in Young People
SHOW GUEST: Lisa Smith
The Washington Post reports that the average teen spends more than 7 ½ hours a day on technology. This means they are spending those 7 ½ hours a day without any "in person" communication which leads to feeling isolated even though they may be in constant contact with their peers through texting, social media, or online gaming. This ongoing isolation is causing depression, anxiety and other emotional disorders at rates we've never seen before.
Join us as Lisa Smith, co-founder of Save My Family Today, provides insight into this alarming phenomenon. Lisa will describe for our listeners how her organization's work with youth and their families achieves the compassionate communication flow needed to "reconnect the disconnect" when navigating the rough waters of emotional instability, a process that makes way for a healthier, more balanced personality and smoother sailing into the future.
