"Community-Based Juvenile Treatment Programs"

Allen and Dr. Melody discuss with their guests recent national research regarding the shift of county
juvenile justice systems towards community-based treatment alternatives in response to the growing state and
county budget deficits. As well as statistic showing that offenders dealing with mental health and/or drug
related issues tend to get worse when incarcerated with more violent offenders, while tending to do much
better when they go to a residential treatment program or are dealt with through a community-based treatment
program.
