FILM DIRECTOR | DISABILITY ACTIVIST - Dominick Evans is a Film Director and Activist in the
disability and LGBT communities. A trans-man with a neuro-muscular disability known as Spinal Muscular
Atrophy, he was the first person with a severe physical disability to make it through the award winning BFA
Film program at Wright State University. Dominick's latest film project "Inamorata" is a period piece set in
the 1960's that explores the relationship of a same-sex female couple and the trials and tribulations they
endure. Mr. Evans often explores topics and features characters with voices not otherwise heard in mainstream
Hollywood. For his activism work, Dominick was invited to the White House for the first forum on LGBT issues.
He also started a regular Twitter chat, known as #FilmDis, which discusses both representation of people with
disabilities in media (film/TV predominantly) and depictions of disability in media.
