Basem Wasef is a veteran automotive journalist, author, and director with a passion for all things mechanical. Born in Cairo and raised in London and Southern California, Basem’s vehicular fascination can be traced back to his early childhood when he sang &"Happy Birthday” to his Matchbox cars. He has since written three books, the most recent of which is Speed Read: Supercars.Basem is a regular contributor to magazines including Automobile, Men’s Journaland Robb Report.
