Description

James Meredith integrated the University of Mississippi on Sept. 30, 1962.  Jerry Short was on the other side of Meredith and the U.S. Marshalls 57 years ago today – and he recalls this dramatic and deadly time during Mississippi and the South's evolvement on civil rights.  Clemson nearly loses at North Carolina, and as a result the Alabama Crimson Tide ascend to No. 1.  Plus, the first Sikh officer in the Harris County (Texas) Sheriff's Office is killed in the line of duty.
