-Nearly half of all children under the age of 8 have their own tablet. 

-Children under 8 years old spend an average of 2 hours per day on screens (not including TV). 

-Children between 8-18 spend 7.5 hours a day on screens. 

Effects of too much screen time in children: behavioral problems, lack of sleep, increase in childhood obesity, increased violence, developmental delays, phantom swiping, and screen addiction. 

Benefits of less screen time in children: increased creativity in children, better behavior, stronger family bonds, and developmental progress in kids. 

3 Steps to Stop Screen Addiction

1. Remind yourself that you are the parent

2. Make some kind of change in your child's screen time

3. Reflect on your own screen time and adjust
