Guidelines when setting limits:
-Limits are not punitive
-Deliver the limit calmly
-It is up to the child decide if they will obey the set limits
-Parents must consistently implement the limits
Criteria for when limits are needed:
-Is this necessary?
-Can I consistently enforce this limit?
-If I don’t set this limit, can I allow this behavior to happen consistently?
How to set limits (ACT):
Acknowledge the feeling
Communicate the limit
Target the alternative
