Step into the squared circle with Buck Fitches, El Logico and El Mako de Noche as they recap the current landscape of pro wrestling. On this episode the guys recap of Smackdown, Raw and SummerSlam.
This week in wrestling was nothing short of explosive and ESPN just made it even bigger. The network has officially acquired the rights to stream WWE Premium Live Events, bringing sports entertainment even closer to the mainstream spotlight.
On SmackDown, John Cena took a step back from his recent mission to destroy the business, reflecting on being abandoned by those who led him down that path. Giulia retained her U.S. Title against Zelina Vega, while Los Garza held onto their AAA Tag Titles in a wild clash with Mr. Iguana and Psycho Clown. Damien Priest picked up a DQ win over Aleister Black, and Tama Tonga got the better of Jimmy Uso.
Then came SummerSlam, and it was mayhem. Cody Rhodes defeated John Cena in a brutal street fight before Brock Lesnar ambushed Cena with an F5. CM Punk dethroned Gunther, only for Seth Rollins to cash in his Money in the Bank contract and walk out champion. Becky Lynch retained the IC Title, Dom survived AJ Styles, Naomi outlasted Rhea and Iyo, and a stacked TLC match saw the Wyatt Sick6 retain amidst interference from Uncle Howdy, Rowan, Nikki Cross, B-Fab, and Candice LeRae. Add in Roman & Jey taking down Bron and Reed, Alexa & Charlotte claiming gold, and Sami Zayn putting down Karrion Kross
Over on RAW, chaos reigned. Seth Rollins defended his new world title against LA Knight, only for CM Punk to interfere and stir the pot. After a post-match beatdown from Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, Roman Reigns made a surprise return after the credits, only to be squashed and written off in shocking fashion. Becky Lynch traded verbal haymakers with Nikki Bella, Dom continued his reign of terror, and Charlotte & Alexa Bliss successfully defended the tag titles. This week was stacked.
Tune in as we break it all down, one chair shot at a time.
