Jesus met a young wealthy ruler who manifested special qualities. Jesus seemed to take a real "liking" to him. The young man wanted to know what he needed to do further to have eternal life. He lacked something in his life. This illustrates that being a good moral person is not of itself enough. Do you lack something in your life that may prevent you from having eternal life?
