Description

Noah's faith and trust in God and his reverent fear for God, saved mankind. After the flood, Genesis 8:21 "the LORD said in his heart, "I will never again curse the ground because of humankind, for the inclination of the human heart is evil from youth; nor will I ever again destroy every living creature as I have done." God tells Noah to be fruitful and mutiply, and fill the earth." God gives dominion to man over every living thing and allows "moving thing that lives shall be food for you." But, the LORD draws a boundary: Gen 9:4 "Only, you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood."Gen 9:5 "For your own lifeblood I will surely require a reckoning" And the LORD makes a covenant with Noah, Gen9:9-11 "As for me, I am establishing my covenant with you and your descendants after you, and with every living creature that is with you, ...that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of a flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth." The portion ends with vain glorious mankind building the tower of Babel Gen 11:4 "Come let us build ourselves a city, and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves." Gen 11:9 "So the LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth." God's plan for mercy and grace reign because at Pentecost Acts 2:4-8 devout Jews from every nation heard the Holy Spirit speaking the good news in the native language of each and Acts 2:37 " Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart" and baptized in the name of Yeshua Ha Meshiach. Acts 2:38 "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." EPH2:8 "By grace you have been saved through faith."
