Leviticus is the worship manual the Lord provided for a redeemed people. In it, the Spirit tells us about God's holiness, God's presence, and his provisions for atonement. In light of these truths, Leviticus lays out the patterns of living that will allow a holy God to live in the midst of people still struggling to be God's holy nation. In a discussion about the five sacrifices, we see the perfections of Messiah in his devotion to carrying out the will of God. In addition, we learn what it means as New Covenant followers of Yeshua to live and serve in the holy priesthood, offering acceptable sacrifices to God. We no longer bring offerings of animals and grain. Instead, the good words we speak and the good deeds we do, we do in sacrifice as offerings of our time, treasure, and talent to the Lord. In thanksgiving we speak and do that God may receive the glory due to him.
