We study the Torah portion Terumah(offering) Exodus 25-27:19 with dedicated instructions about building the tabernacle and Hebrews 9 which is the New Covenant portion addressing the dwelling place for the LORD. We discuss the chief purpose of man to glorify God and God's intention to dwell with His people. We discuss the instructions for the construction of the physical sanctuary within which is the Holy of Holies. Within the veil is the physical tabernacle, in Hebrew, Mishkan, and the ark with its covering or mercy seat called in Hebrew, Kapporet, meaning cover and atone. The ark cover or mercy seat was to be "the dwelling place of the LORD." Hebrews 9 compares and contrasts the Old and New covenants with its "earthly place of holiness" versus the "more perfect tent not made with hands that is not of this creation". Hebrews 9 teaches that Yeshua entered "once and for all into the holy places by means of his own blood thus securing eternal redemption. Heb 9:13 "For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God."
