Description

Liza Towell Boyd is one of the country's top equestrian riders and trainers. She has won more than 25 USHJA International and National Hunter Derbies and rode her current horse, Brunello to victory in the 2013, 2014, and 2015 USHJA International Hunter Derby Championships.

In the USHJA World Championship Hunter Rider program, Liza's is the only rider to have won the WCHR Pony, Junior, and Professional titles. She also won the WCHR Professional Finals again in 2017 and 2018.

As a Junior, Liza was a three-time winner of the Overall World Champion Hunter Rider and placed second in the Washington International Equitation Finals. She won the Best Child Rider Award at the Washington International Horse Show four times. After completing her Junior career, Liza graduated from the College of Charleston (South Carolina) before returning to the family business.

Liza lives in Camden, South Carolina where she runs Finally Farm Inc. with her father Jack Towell, mother, Lisa Towell, and brother, Hardin Towell. Her brother Ned grew up fox hunting in and around Camden. In 2020, he established his own hunt and pack of hounds with co-founders Lea S. Edwards and Vince Paschal called The Wateree Hounds, a pack of Penn-Marydel Foxhounds, living on seven acres behind his family's Finally Farm.

Along with her father Liza has trained numerous winning Junior Hunters. Liza and her husband, Blake Boyd, have two daughters, Elle and Adeline

who are following their mom's lead and are already young equestrians.

In the USHJA World Championship Hunter Rider program, Liza's record is unmatched. She's the only rider to have won the WCHR Pony, Junior and Professional titles, a record she established in 2013 with her first victory in the WCHR Professional Finals.

In 2010, Liza was chosen by the USHJA High-Performance Hunter Committee to be a member of the World Equestrian Games USHJA Hunter Derby Exhibition Team.

Liza has also been the Assistant Trainer of the Leading Junior Hunter Rider at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show two times, is a three-time winner of the WCHR Palm Beach Hunter Classic Spectacular (Florida) and has been Champion and Reserve Champion numerous times at Devon, the Capital Challenge and the East Coast fall indoor shows.

Liza has also amassed an impressive collection of jumper accolades, including grand prix victories aboard a variety of mounts.

Her husband lake has also been around horses his entire life and works as a licensed agent with EMO Agency, Inc., one of the country's top equine and farm insurance companies.
