Hello Pilgrims and welcome back to the podcast.
Shame is man's natural reaction to sin. Guilt is man's natural reaction to shame. Repentance is man's natural response to guilt. Reconciliation is God's merciful response to man's repentance.
If any of these things are removed—whether it be for comfort or convenience—man's ability to be reconciled to God is mortally wounded.
Pilgrims, many people today are confused about the role guilt, shame, and conviction should play in their lives. The bible explicitly states, there is therefore no condemnation for those who are in Christ…but what about those who aren’t?
Jesus said, in John chapter 3, that he did not come to condemn the world…but it wasn’t because condemnation is wrong, but rather because the world already stood condemned because of their sin and rejection of God.
In today’s podcast, Mike and I discuss the godly gift of guilt.
Before a man can truly embrace his need for Jesus, he must first recognize his sin and the culpability associated with it. Therefore, guilt is not at war with faith, but is rather the necessary means by which a man may trust in Jesus and find freedom.
Thanks again for joining us pilgrims. Enjoy the podcast and stay pugnacious.
