Description

A proposed law that would make it easier for people to get spare parts and patch up their appliances appears to be on the scrap heap itself. Despite 95% of submitters supporting the Right to Repair Bill, a select committee reviewing it has recommended it go no further. The bill would have forced manufacturers to stock spare parts, discouraging them from purposely making appliances that cant be repeaired and end up at the tip.
