At the start of the year Du Plessis Kirifi was on the cusp of giving up on his All Blacks dream. He had a big money offer from Japan on the table and was weighing up heading offshore, but after conversations with his family and partner, decided to give it one more crack, confident he could make the test team if he gave it his all.
