OrEd-T-18.4-Light in the Dream
24. Walking the way of dreams, we have spent our lives bringing truth to illusion, reality to fantasy. We have gone from waking to sleeping and on to yet deeper sleep. Every fantasy made the darkness deeper, as one dream led to another dream. No ray of light could enter the darkness. In our insanity we sought complete blackness, so we could hide from truth forever. We forgot that the light is in us, and cannot be put out.
25. We willingly accept the goal of knowledge. And we are advancing because our goal is truth, not fear. But as light comes nearer, we shrink and step back, retreating into the darkness of fear and terror. However, joining with Jesus in an instant of light will be enough to remind us that our goal is light, and truth rushes to meet us because we called on it.
26. We are not afraid of love, but of the illusion of love, and of love's judgement, for the journey into darkness has been long and cruel. Yet, we are advancing to love's meaning, and away from the fear with which we have surrounded love, as we travel surely away from all illusions. We know that the Holy Spirit walks beside us on this chosen way, and gives us confidence in the selves that we have despised for so long. Illusions are still fearful, but what is that to us who travel surely and very swiftly away from fear?
27. When we joined hands with each other we also joined hands with Jesus. He will not leave us in the darkness, for we agreed to leave the darkness with him. This world's light is in our relationship, and fear must disappear before us now. We will not be tempted to snatch away the gift of faith we offered each other. That would be frightening to us. The gift is given forever, for God Himself received it. We have accepted God and we cannot take back the gift of faith. The holiness of our relationship is established in Heaven. We do not understand what we accepted, but we remember that our understanding is not necessary. All that was necessary was merely the wish to understand. That wish was the desire to be holy. God's Will and our desire is granted us, for our desire for His Will is all we ever had or ever were.
28. Each instant that we spend with Jesus will teach us that this goal is possible, and will strengthen our desire to reach it. This goal's accomplishment lies in our desire, which is in complete accord with all the power of the Holy Spirit's Will. Not even a faltering footstep can separate our desire from His will and His strength. Jesus holds our hand as surely as we hold each other's hand. We will not separate, for Jesus stands and walks with us in our advance to truth. And where we go, we carry God with us.
29. In our relationship, we have joined with Jesus in bringing Heaven to the Son of God, who hid in darkness. We have been willing to bring the darkness to light, and this willingness has given strength to everyone who would remain in darkness. Those who desire to see will see. When the darkness in them is offered to the light and is removed forever, they will join with Jesus in carrying their light into the darkness. Joined with Jesus in the holy light of our relationship, his need for us is our need for salvation. He would give to us what we gave to him. For when we joined each other, we answered him.
30. The darkness in us has been brought to light, and now, as bringers of salvation, we have the function of bringing light to darkness. We carry light back to the darkness from the holy instant, to which we brought the darkness. We are made whole in our desire to make whole. Time is no worry, for all fear is really past. Time has been readjusted to help us do together what our separate pasts would hinder. We have gone past fear. When two minds can join in the desire for love, love must join with them.
31. Every light in Heaven goes with us. Each ray that shines forever in the Mind of God, shines on us. Heaven is joined with us in our advance to Heaven. We cannot remain in darkness when such great light has joined with us to give the power of God Himself to the spark of our desire. We are coming home together after a long and meaningless journey, which we undertook apart and which led nowhere. We have found each other and will light each others way. And from this light will the Great Rays extend back into darkness and forward unto God to shine away the past and so make room for His eternal Presence, in which everything is radiant in the light.
