10. To have faith is to heal. Faith is the sign that I have accepted the Atonement for myself, and would share the Atonement. Faith offers the gift of freedom from the past, for me to receive and to offer to my brother. Nothing my brother has done in the past can condemn him now. I freely choose to overlook his errors, and look past all barriers between my self and his self, seeing our selves as one. And in that one I see my faith is fully justified. Faith is always justified, but there is no justification for faithlessness.

11. As fear is part of attack, faith is a part of love, the opposite of fear. Faith acknowledges union. It is the gracious acknowledgment of everyone as a Son of our most loving Father, loved by Him, and loved by me as myself. It is God's love that joins us, and for God's love we would keep no one separate from our love. Each one appears just as he is perceived in the holy instant, united in our purpose to be released from guilt. We saw the Christ in him, and he was healed because we looked on what makes faith forever justified in everyone.

12. Faith is the gift of God, through the Holy Spirit Whom God has given me. Faithlessness looks upon the Son of God and judges him unworthy of forgiveness. But through the eyes of faith, the Son of God is seen already forgiven, free of all the guilt he lay upon himself. Faith sees him only now, because it does not look to the past to judge him, but sees in him only what it sees in me. Faith does not see through the body's eyes, nor look to bodies for its justification. It is the messenger of the new perception sent forth to gather witnesses for its coming, and to return their messages to me. Faith is as easily exchanged for knowledge as is the real world. For faith arises from the Holy Spirit's perception and is the sign that I share His perception. Through the Holy Spirit, faith is a gift I offer to the Son of God. The gift is wholly acceptable to God as it is to the Son, therefore the gift is offered me.

13. Our holy relationship, with its new purpose, offers us faith to give to each other. Our faithlessness had driven us apart, and so we did not recognize salvation in each other. Yet faith unites us in the holiness we see, not through the body's eyes but in the sight of Him Who joined us, and in Whom we are united. Grace is not given to a body, but to a mind. And the mind that receives grace looks instantly beyond the body and sees the holy place where it was healed. There the mind sees the altar, and the grace that was given. We, then, offer grace and blessing to each other, for we stand at the same altar where grace was laid for both of us. And we are healed by grace together, that we may heal through faith.

14. In the holy instant, we stand before the altar God has raised unto Himself and both of us. We lay faithlessness aside and come to the altar together. Here we will see the miracle of our relationship as it was made again through faith. And it is here that we realize that there is nothing faith cannot forgive. Faith's calm sight brings the miracle of healing with equal ease to all errors. The messengers of love do what they are sent to do. They return with the glad tidings that it was done to us, who stand together before the altar, from where they came.

15. As faithlessness will keep our little kingdoms barren and separate, so faith will help the Holy Spirit prepare the ground for the most holy garden which He would make of it. For faith brings peace, and peace calls on truth to enter to make lovely what has been prepared for loveliness. Truth follows faith and peace, completing the process of making lovely which they began. Faith is still a learning goal, but will no longer be needed when the lesson has been learned. Yet truth will stay forever.

16. Learning how to not interfere with the eternal, making it a slave to time, is our dedication. Whom God created as His Son is slave to nothing, being lord of all, along with his Creator. What we think we do to the eternal we do to ourselves. We can enslave a body, but an idea is free, incapable of being kept in prison or limited in any way, except by the mind that thought the idea. For the idea remains joined to its source, which is its liberator or jailor, according to which purpose the mind chooses for itself.
