“…A young man’s resistance to a connection with God, and the shocking family secrets which threaten to buckle his knees as he takes the first steps on his pathway to faith…”
This is the tagline to Honor My Father…Really?, a rich and multilayered fictional saga of family, love, and life. What actually happens is this: For a long time, 18-year old Devin Holloway ignored his inner urges to form a relationship with God because of the holy-roller example his father, Michael, set before him. But after forming a new friendship with Nate and the gorgeous McKenna, Devin embarks on a spiritual journey, only to then witness his father in an adulterous situation. Meanwhile, Devin’s mother, Ranya, is having horrifying nightmares that dig up the past she has kept hidden from everyone in the family. Only Ranya’s mother knows the details of Ranya’s past, and cautions her to divulge the secret before it tears her apart. On the night that Michael and Ranya each plan to confess their secrets to one another, Michael goes first, but fearful Ranya remains quiet. Now the turmoil really begins. Even with love, prayer, and support of family and friends, Devin struggles to forgive and honor his father, while the entire Holloway family strives to regain wholeness and harmony.
This book is for fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, teenagers and adults. While fictional in nature, the story addresses real world, everyday issues that plague Christian families, especially when it comes to developing and living out our faith on a daily basis.

Blemished Honor
“A family’s determination to stand—flaws and all…”
On the rebound from family drama, the Holloways are determined to recover from previous wounds that threatened to tear them apart. Every member of the family is striving to live lives that honor God, in spite of their faults and shortcomings. While Michael and Ranya fight for reconciliation of their marriage, they’ve each got new issues to deal with—Ranya, with the entrance of Jordan, whom she has kept hidden from her family for over 20 years—and Michael, with a past that creeps up to disturb the peace he is working so hard to maintain. Meanwhile, college freshman Devin continues in his new spiritual journey and his relationship with McKenna, but struggles with insurmountable obstacles that cause him to reach his breaking point. When extreme demands jeopardize the unity of the family, the Holloways must respond with radical actions to protect themselves from further destruction.
There is no dragging through the sludge of a boring backstory with this book; the plot is well-paced throughout. But most importantly we are taught several spiritual life lessons, mini sermonettes acted out as if on the stage of life. This book is for everyone who needs to know that our God forgives. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us (Psalm 103:12). If you missed Honor My Father...Really? be sure to grab that book too. Both will bless you.
