About the Author

Verona L. Jacobs, a native of rural northeast Florida, earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Education from the University of South Florida in Tampa. She also has certifications in Behavior Analysis and Vocational Rehabilitation.
The author has served in many roles during her journey, as a Behaviorist, Parenting Specialist, Counselor, Youth Coordinator, Sunday School Teacher, Motivational Speaker, three time speaker at the Rock Youth Retreat in Ocean City…etc. She founded a Girl Scout Troop, the Allene Brooks Missionary Circle, a community newsletter, facilitated teen talk sessions, and taught regular and senior citizens’ aerobics in her hometown. She has also volunteered at a half-way house for pregnant teens and served as an ambassador for a cancer center. But the author’s favorite of all titles, is Mom. She is the mother of three adult children who are phenomenally talented in their own right.
She is a third generation author and acknowledges that she did not choose to be an author, but was chosen. She also believes that the greatest gift that a parent can give a child is an introduction to Jesus Christ. Because she was born to older parents, she has always had the spirit of someone far beyond her years. By the time she was in her mid 30’s, she had lost both of her parents and brother to cancer, feeling alone, but knowing in her heart that she really wasn’t because of the gift that her parents had given her. It has taken 50 years for her to truly understand and appreciate the value of what she has on the inside of her and that it has purpose far beyond anything she could have imagined.
She has a strong desire to help people and is determined to do whatever she can to motivate and encourage others. She isn’t comfortable with attention, but if that’s what it takes to fulfill her assignment, she has promised God that she will do as instructed.
Her prayer is that those who can afford her books will buy them for themselves and give some to others who may not be able to afford them. God has shown her that some of the people who need her books most, can’t afford them. She looks forward to being able to send and drop boxes of books off to homeless shelters, women’s prisons, half-way houses, churches, etc. She carries them in her purse and gives them to whoever God moves her to give them to. At this point, she has given away more than she has sold.
An injury on the job now limits the air that she can breathe. So much of what she has done previously, she can’t do currently. However, she still has so much joy, gratitude and appreciation for the fact that her life is still relevant and although different, she can still be a blessing to God’s people by sharing with them what He has shared with her.

(Below is the introduction from the first book in my series)
“As It Flows From My Heart”
As it flows from my heart is the way that I have written for the last several months. As I have experienced some difficulties in life beyond anything I could ever have imagined, I used my pen to release what appear to be messages and encouragement to myself and others. Some of the writings are seen through my eyes or the eyes of others. At times, ‘the flow from my heart’ is full of emotion or frustration, but always ending with faith, thanksgiving and/or hope.
As I re-read ‘the flow from my heart’, it encourages me over and over again. After sharing my collection with my Aunt Eleanor, I was inspired to share them with you. My prayer is that ‘the flow from my heart’ will bless you as much as it has blessed me.
At this point, I have picked up my pen 48 times to document this collection. I have given them to you as they were given to me, leaving them as they were, without edit. Whether I pick up the pen or not, the flow continues all the time…there is so much more to come.
I have been amazed and grateful to God for allowing me to document each, in this collection, in a matter of a few minutes. He has transformed my life through these writings, helping me to see myself and others, which will ultimately have an impact on my life and the lives of those around me.
I know that these messages were inspired by God, because so many were lessons or reminders for me, even though I was the writer.
If you, like I, have gone through some challenges on your journey through life, keep this collection of encouragement close to you and use it as I do, as a reminder and a source of inspiration.
There is a special place in my heart for those who have experienced divorce, reared teens alone and lost parents and siblings to cancer.
Please enjoy ‘the flow’ and be blessed. As long as my heart continues to pump, I will share with you “As It Flows from My Heart”!
Peace and Blessings to you and yours
