Mayor Grant Smith of Palmerston North, NZ visits the Manawatu Multicultural Center to talk with migrants, volunteers and refugees who are new comers to the country and the Manawatu area. Plus, the mayor tells us his favorite place to visit in Palmerston North. We also talk with Mayette Maling-Cope, a life long educator who volunteers her time teaching English as a second language to new comers to New Zealand at the centre. A big thank you to Meriam Findlay and her volunteers who run the centre which in many cases is the gateway for migrants and refugees to the area.
