3 Gospels down, one to go... today on The Sir Walter Jones Show, we will dive into the Gospel of Saint Lucas, the physician. Luke has the distinction of being the only Gentile writer in the bible. It has been observed that preachers usually see men at their best, lawyers see men at their worst, and doctors see men as they really are. This Gospel is indeed my favorite (second to John) and this is the same guy responsible for the Acts of the Apostles. While Matthew focussed on Jesus as the fulfillment of the Old Testament Prophecies, and Mark focussing on Jesus the "Son of Man", Luke focusses on Jesus being the "Savior of the World". This letter was written to a person of rank by the name of Theophilus and Luke needed him/us to know that this is not necessarily a chronological arrangement, but rather to a logical one from a man who is considered a historian.
Get ready Ladies, although Matthew ties Jesus ordained rulership to his "supposed" Father Joseph, Luke uses MARY as a deserved lineage and takes him all the way back to Adam! Welcome to the show my dear brother Elder Rodney Lawrence Jones!
