Every podcast we do is an incredible experience. There is nothing more powerful than hearing a woman's story in its purest, rawest form.
Roseleen's story is no different, and is one that has touched many at SheTalks in a very personal way. A story that brings to light the realities of domestic violence in young relationships, and the need to educate young people on recognizing the signs of an unhealthy relationship.
In 2011, Roseleen's sister, Maple Batalia, was gunned down by her ex-boyfriend after leaving a late night study session at SFU Surrey. An unthinkable death that Maple's family has handled with poise, grace and beauty - all of the things that Maple embodied.
Roseleen's story is one of tragedy...and how tragedy can sometimes force us to pull out of our darkest places, and find any glimmer of light. Roseleen's story is about her journey to find light, hope and create positive changes from Maple's passing.
