Nan Hayworth is medical doctor and former Republican Congresswoman from New York's 19th congressional district. She is a director with the Goodman Institute and appears on Fox News, Fox Business News, CNN and MSNBC. We will discuss with former Congresswoman Nan Hayworth (R-NY) the newly released study on behalf of the Goodman Institute that looks at how the tax code and labor regulations most written decades ago punish the duel income families and particularly disadvantage wives and mothers who work part-time or flex in and out of the workforce depending on family circumstances. For instance, two women working side by side at the same salary will pay a different percent of their income in taxes if one is married and her income, combined with her husbands will drive them into a higher tax bracket. Or, thanks to Obamacare it is illegal to an employee to forgo health insurance in return a higher income even if the family already has health insurance. Her study provides numerous examples of outdated laws and reforms needed to our tax code.
