We were discussing about the first thoughts on arriving to study in Oulu. There was also Ella, who comes from Lapland. She told Chris about the cold weather in Finland. Chris wanted to know more about everyday living in Oulu and Finland.
It is difficult for many international students to come to study in Oulu and Finland. There are many practical issues to be solved like transportation, food, clothes, living, money, people, finding places. The Finnish language is challenging. It is anyway very good for Finland that we take students from other countries to study here even if it will no longer be free at the universities of Finland, at least starting from the autumn term 2017. Even then there are scholarships for students!
