Description

The SCP is back with episode 27 just in time for the fall season.  We begin as always with the roundup where we review the recent literature on a wide variety of topics.  Some of them include a new study on “blank state” stem cells, the first iPSC cell replacement therapy, a copy of the STAP reviewer comments was released, marijuana and Alzheimer's, a possible new therapy for hair loss, and a new way to make insulin producing cells fro diabetes patients.  We then bring on Dr. Valentina Fossati from the New York Stem Cell Foundation, to talk about her recent publication using iPSCs to generate the  oligodendrocytes, the cells that myelinate neurons and its implications for multiple sclerosis.  Enjoy!
