While our world relies more and more on technology, the people who make things by hand are having a sort of quiet renaissance. Many of them are putting their craftwork through a spiritual prism and reaping physical and mental benefits in the process. Our guest on this show says you can literally "craft the crazy away" through beading and crocheting, candle-making, and collaging. Reverend Maggie OmanShannon is an interfaith minister, spiritual director, workshop and retreat facilitator, and author. She's also the founder of New Story, a coaching and consulting business that centers on helping people create deeper meaning in their lives. She's written a book called Crafting Calm: Projects and Practices for Creativity and Contemplation, which focuses on the spiritual journey of creation.
