Melanie and David chat with winemaker Max Weinlaub about the wines and philosophy of Chile's Vina Maipo winery, founded in 1948 in the heart of the world-renowned Maipo Valley. Topics include wines made, varietals used, and where the grapes are grown. Particular emphasis on Weinlaub's championing of of the Syrah grape in a country known more for Bordeaux style varietals. Weinlaub and his team oversee almost 5000 acres of vineyards in Chile's Rapel, Maule, Casablanca, and Maipo Valleys.
