***Note on statement regarding advances paid by publishers at the 8 min mark: L. David Harris' statement of having to "work off" the pay advance and whether or not the author could "keep" it would better be stated that one would not earn any royalty income until equiv. royalty revenues exceed that advance dollar amount. No royalties are generally paid to those who sell copyrights until the advance payment amount has been exceeded (unless there is a clause in the contract to indicate otherwise).
