Talking about current events and news of the week.
1) The U.S. has for a long time adopted an official policy of giving full support to the fascist state of Israel (occupied Palestine.) This seems to be getting more blatant in the last two years, there are bills being introduced that make it mandatory to pledge allegiance to Israel in order to maintain certain jobs, and support for a free Palestine is becoming viewed more and more as "anti semetic."
2) National Congress of the American Indians (NCAI) is the oldest and largest organization serving Native people in the U.S. Every year NCAI host their Executive Council Winter Session in DC. This is an opportunity for Indigenous leaders to gather and catch up on various issues and to consult with the U.S. government across party lines.
Jen Deerinwater will be join us to catch us up on the week and the issues such as MMIWG2 on tribally recognizes lands and urban areas, ICWA, the 2020 Census, resource extraction, the lack of communications technology infrastructure in "Indian country,” and more. "
