The Peoples Weekly May 3rd, 2019 talking about current events and news of the week.
1) A Minneapolis cop named Mohamed Noor was convicted of third-degree murder for murdering Justine Ruszczyk Damond when she called 911 to report a rape. We predicted this outcome over a year ago on this very show. While it's good to see a cop finally punished for murder, it seems disgutingly blatant that when cops routinely brutalize and murder unarmed people of color daily there are no repercussions, in fact most times they are rewarded for that behavior.
2) Mark Steven Domingo a 26 year old army veteran, who planned to bomb a Nazi rally in Long Beach California, was set up and arrested by the FBI and now is being called a "terrorist", and a "man full of hate" by the mainstream media. Once again this seems disgustingly blatant, that white terrorists who shoot up black churches, mosques and synagogues and send pipe bombs all over the country, are not only never called terrorists, but routinely get lovely puff pieces written about them in mainstream media attempting to normalize and humanize them usually talking about how misunderstood they were and how they may have had mental conditions etc.
3) Florida lawmakers just passed a law allowing teachers to carry guns in classrooms. How long will it be before a young black or Latino student gets murdered buy one of these gun packing teachers? And, will these teachers have the same protection as police do to murder people of color (children included) with impunity?
