This week we have a very special episode of the Out of Bounds podcast as Jarrod Harbrow joins me a head of the Sir Doug Nicholls Indigenous round.
Over a coffee and some banana bread, Jarod provides an intimate insight in to what it means to an indigenous player in the competition heading in to such a great fixture on the AFL calendar. Jarrod talks about the interesting story behind Gold Coasts Guernsey that was created specifically for the indigenous round and also discuss some of the key indigenous players that have helped shape their position in the AFL.
We then take a light-hearted look at some of his time in the AFL. We talk through some of the more interesting teammates he played with, how he caught a fish with a broken hand and how his love for country music sent him to Vegas of all places. Jarrod also discusses his Leadership Academy and the motivation behind him becoming a role model at the club for some of the younger indigenous players in the team.
Amongst this all Jarrod and I also get a chance to talk about some other challenges he has faced off the field and what players he used to and still does admire in this great game. Hope you enjoy the episode!
