On this the Sunday of the Blind Man Father Paul points out that suffering in life is not a result of personal sin. Healing in any form can only come about from the Grace of God, which is the Holy Spirit. Father Paul points out that life is circumscribed by time, a beginning and ending. And we should live our lives in the only reality we have "the present", making the most of our time to work out our salvation.
