“And Ruth said, intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee; for whither thou goest I will go; and whither thou lodgest I will lodge; thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God; where thou diest will I die, and there will I be buried; the Lord do so to me, and more also if aught but death part thee and me.” (Ruth 1:16-17)
Characteristics of a Godly Mentor:
- They pass on Godly principles to their natural and spiritual children.
- Your mentor uses every opportunity they have with you to teach you something.
- Once the lesson is taught, the teacher/mentor provides opportunity for the mentee to do their part.
- They may not give you everything you need to do a task. But they guide you in the right direction.
- A Godly mentor seeks to honor God in the choices they make every day.
- A Godly mentor will never tell you to do anything that they are not willing to do themselves.
- A Godly mentor spends quality time with you.
